Celebrating 78 Years of Service to the Hampton, VA Community

On March 20, 2025, the Zeta Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., based in Hampton, Virginia, proudly celebrated its 78th Chapter Anniversary. Chartered on March 20, 1947, in the historic city of Hampton, the chapter has a long-standing legacy of service, brotherhood, and leadership whose influential force in the pursuit of justice, equality, and community development, reflect the enduring spirit of those who have carried its banner for nearly eight decades.

The chapter's charter members, notable figures in academia and military leadership, were instrumental in laying the foundation for its ongoing work. These pioneering brothers included:

Dr. Fred Inge, Chairman of the Biology Department at Hampton Institute, whose leadership in education set the standard for future generations of scholars.

Dr. Don A. Davis, Comptroller in the Business Department at Hampton Institute and a freshman adviser, who played a critical role in guiding students toward academic success.

Herman G. Cook, Biology Professor at Hampton Institute, who was dedicated to advancing knowledge and fostering academic excellence.

Mr. Arthur Burke, English Professor at Hampton Institute, who worked tirelessly to promote literacy and intellectual growth.

Colonel William H. Moses, Commander of the ROTC at Hampton Institute, who provided military guidance and instilled leadership values in future generations of service members.
